Eateries lend a hand to homeless

December 11, 2010

POPULAR eateries on the lower North Shore are hungry for social change this Christmas.

Restaurants who want to do their bit for the homeless have teamed up with charity StreetSmart Australia for Dine Out to Help Out.

The campaign asks diners to help out this Christmas by adding a small donation to their bill. Participating eateries include Neutral Bay’s Firefly, Garden Brasserie, Neutral Bay Bar and Dining and Crows Nest restaurants New Orleans Cafe, Xenos Restaurant and MUMU Grill.

In its eighth year, the campaign has raised more than $1.1 million to combat homelessness.

Funds are collected from restaurants and put towards refuges and charities.

The campaign will run until Christmas Eve so book a table for your annual work Christmas party or even just a Christmas catch-up with friends.
